DCD/Dyspraxia assessment (children 16+)
Book a DCD/Dyspraxia assessment for young people over 16
About This Service
A DCD/Dyspraxia assessment can be carried out by myself as a qualified SpLD Assessor for young people over 16. This is undertaken alongside a Dyslexia Assessment. In the assessment, you will be sent a questionnaire to complete, collecting all your background information. On the day of the assessment, I will complete an in-depth Diagnostic Interview for DCD in Adults (DIDA). It is a framework to identify DCD in adults (16+). It evaluates if motor co-ordination difficulties act as the primary barrier to studying or work, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. I will provide a report identifying DCD/Dyspraxia and recommended strategies which can be used for school, University or work. It will help you understand why you are struggling and provide a detailed insight into making impactful changes. It can be used to apply for Access to Work and DSA. It is recognised under the Equality Act 2010. I have successfully completed the “Beyond Clumsy”: Understanding DCD/Dyspraxia in SpLD Assessment course, alongside extended training, mentoring and professional development relevant to the assessment areas and age ranges I support. If you have concerns about DCD/Dyspraxia in a child under 16, the guidance is that you should always contact your GP. The cost is only £100 if added to a Dyslexia Assessment.
