Welcome
My name is Toria Thomas. I support families, schools and businesses in identifying and supporting children and adults with neurodivergence, such as Autism and Dyslexia. I bring 20 years experience in education to you as a private qualified Dyslexia Assessor, Specialist Teacher, SENCO and Workplace Needs Assessor.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, confidence or practical strategies, I’m here to help you understand everyone’s unique strengths and unlock their full potential. I offer forward thinking, person-centred and impactful support, especially to those trying to navigate the SEND system. Navigating neurodivergence together with ‘neuro-knowledge’.

How can I help?
How I can help parents and children
I provide a range of services including free initial consultations, private dyslexia assessments, dyslexia screening and 1:1 tutoring sessions. I offer guidance through the EHCP process, mediation and tribunals.
I aim to bring extensive experience to families, making it accessible and providing solution-focussed to bring empowerment. I work collaboratively with parents, schools and the local authority to bring clarity and unity.

How I can help adults
I carry out private dyslexia assessments, dyslexia screeners and workplace needs assessments with adults to identify learning strengths and difficulties.
Through discussion and testing, I determine whether dyslexia is present and provide a clear report with practical recommendations and strategies to support skills such as reading, writing and IT. The Workplace Needs Assessment provides a holistic overview and recommendations to support adults in the workplace.
How I help businesses support employees
As a Level 4 OCN London Accredited Workplace Needs Assessor, I work with employers and employees to identify and address the specific needs of neurodivergent staff, specialising in dyslexia and autism.
A private workplace needs assessment is carried out in collaboration with both the employee and employer, ensuring legal compliance with disability and discrimination laws and identifying appropriate adjustments to support the individual effectively.
The process results in a comprehensive report outlining findings and recommended adjustments, which can also be used to apply for Access to Work funding. In addition, a private dyslexia screener or full diagnostic dyslexia assessment can be included as part of the assessment or offered separately.

Family's
Journey
I cannot recommend Toria highly enough. My son has dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADHD, and he struggles at school both academically and emotionally. He finds learning very challenging, has low self-esteem in an academic setting, and finds it hard to build resilience when things feel difficult.
I came across Toria on the British Dyslexia website while looking for a tutor to support my son over the summer holidays, and I am so glad I did. From the very beginning, Toria was calm, patient and incredibly supportive. She took the time to really get to know my son and understand his individual needs very quickly.
Toria adapted her lessons thoughtfully, focusing on my son’s hobbies and interests to make learning feel more exciting, accessible and achievable. She used a multi-sensory approach and incorporated games into the sessions, which not only supported his learning but also helped to build his resilience and confidence in a way that felt natural and pressure free. Her expertise and experience in working with neurodiverse children really shines through in everything she does.
After the summer holidays, we asked Toria to continue supporting my son with weekly play therapy sessions to help further develop his resilience and emotional wellbeing. She has a wonderful ability to connect with children, making learning and therapy feel fun, safe and engaging while always keeping their individual needs at the centre.
Toria has also been an incredible support to us as parents. She helped us with our application for an EHCP for our son. When the initial submission was rejected, Toria used her knowledge and experience to help demonstrate to the local authority that my son’s current school was not able to meet his needs under the existing provision. Thanks to her support, the decision was overturned and the EHCP assessment has recently been completed. Toria also attended the review meeting with the local authority, bringing her expertise and insight to support us through what can be a very daunting process. I am delighted that, with Toria's help, Wiltshire Council have confirmed that that Jack has got his EHCP! Thank you so much for all your support.
I would absolutely recommend Toria to any family with a child who has additional needs. She is extremely calm, knowledgeable and compassionate, and has a brilliant way with children. We feel very fortunate to have had her support.
